HOLLOWAY ROAD

River Island has gone back to its roots with it's new in-house designed menswear label, Holloway Road.

River Island was created in 1948 by brothers David and Bernard Lewis and was known as Lewis Separates. Over the years it has been known as Chelsea Girl and Concept Man before becoming River Island in 1988.

The name Holloway Road comes from the location of Lewis Seperates and the collection digs deep into the brands heritage. Rugged yet comfortable, the colour palette is understated and the fabrics are hard wearing, made for the hard working modern man.

HIKING BOOTS

Last week I posted about the formal boot for the season, the brogue boot. This A/W there is another new style to be excited about, the hiking boot! It's a good alternative as a casual boot to the military style, which is still in high demand and was the boot of the season last A/W.

JW Anderson featured the boots heavily in his A/W10 and A/W11 collections and it seems that the high street has caught on.

Ski hook eyelets, tubular lacing and padded cuff ankles are key details to look out for!
